Prakash to serve as ¼«ËÙÁùºÏ²Ê Provost

I am pleased to announce that I have selected College of Natural Science and Mathematics interim dean Anupma Prakash to serve as the ¼«ËÙÁùºÏ²Ê’ next provost and executive vice chancellor.

Dr. Prakash’s career has given her deep roots in research and academics, and a keen understanding of the needs of graduate and undergraduate students. In addition to serving as a successful and productive faculty member, she has demonstrated success in administration and leadership for CNSM, ¼«ËÙÁùºÏ²Ê and the UA system through leadership of the $24 million Alaska Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research.

Dr. Prakash’s strong relationships with faculty members throughout ¼«ËÙÁùºÏ²Ê, commitment to academic excellence and student achievement, and reputation as a steady leader who seeks diverse perspectives make her the right person to serve as our new provost.

Please join me in welcoming Dr. Prakash to ¼«ËÙÁùºÏ²Ê’s executive leadership team. I am confident in her ability to help our university navigate today’s challenges and opportunities while we build a solid future for tomorrow.
